Alpha
Christ Church Lavender Bay began offering Alpha courses in the autumn of 2024.
Alpha is a great opportunity to ask questions about faith in a safe environment over dinner with friends. After dinner, we watch a teaching video and then discuss it openly and honestly together—over dessert of course!
In many ways, Alpha is an example of what it means to receive as well as give to one another, to make sure hospitality remains a priority in helping people feel cared, welcomed and safe as they consider hard issues.
The teaching videos are beautifully produced and deeply helpful. They are full of biblical wisdom and testimonies of God’s faithfulness in once-broken lives. From topics such as life’s meaning to the historic impact of Christ’s resurrection, the videos prompt rich discussion.
They inspire us to think anew about our relationship with Jesus and consider life's deeper questions.
We look forward to offering more Alpha courses in the future and we hope you'll be able to join us.

What to expect
We’d love to meet you at Christ Church Lavender Bay.
The church is easy to find. While many of our members live around the lower North Shore, others travel from a variety of suburbs to join us for services and events. It's an easy walk from North Sydney or Milsons Point train stations or up from a ferry ride to MacMahon's Point or Milsons Point wharfs.
You can also drive across the bridge and find lots of parking options around the church.Whichever service you attend, we hope you’ll experience genuine hospitality, a friend’s welcome, and an encouraging word about how to live this life we’ve been given.
