Baptisms
We love celebrating the blessing of children as well as an adult's new faith commitments at Christ Church Lavender Bay.
Infant Baptism (Christening) and adult baptisms area significant moment in family life as friends, parents and/or god-parents:
1. Stand in front of the church, family, friends and God and declare a personal trust in Jesus as their Lord and Saviour;
2. Pray that your child will grow to have his/her own personal relationship with Jesus;
3. Promise that as church family, parents and/or god-parents, you will do everything possible to teach and encourage your child to know Jesus and accept him as their own Lord and Saviour when they are able to do so.
The child or adult is then baptised by the pouring of water over his/her head as an outward symbol of cleansing, reflecting the inward faith of the parents in Jesus cleansing of their sin on the cross.
Preparing for such a significant moment requires commitment from you. Firstly, a commitment to Jesus as Lord and Saviour; secondly, a commitment to regularly attending church; and thirdly a commitment to meeting with a minister of the church to talk through the baptism service and the promises that you will be making.

What to expect
We’d love to meet you at Christ Church Lavender Bay.
The church is easy to find. While many of our members live around the lower North Shore, others travel from a variety of suburbs to join us for services and events. It's an easy walk from North Sydney or Milsons Point train stations or up from a ferry ride to MacMahon's Point or Milsons Point wharfs.
You can also drive across the bridge and find lots of parking options around the church.Whichever service you attend, we hope you’ll experience genuine hospitality, a friend’s welcome, and an encouraging word about how to live this life we’ve been given.
