ABOUT THE ARTIST
John Yeo
In addition to establishing the Spinal Research Foundation and heading the Spinal Injuries Unit at Royal North Shore Hospital, Dr. John Yeo AO was a faithful and active member of Christ Church Lavender Bay for over thirty years and an avid artist. His paintings used vivid colours in abstract techniques and hang in homes of friends and family around the world.
John was a regular reader of scripture during Sunday services, attended weekly Bible studies and served in a variety of volunteer leadership roles at the church throughout the years. His wife, Joy, was Roseville College’s sixth principal from 1985 – 1999, and she also served on various volunteer leadership roles at the church. The Yeos were married for more than sixty years and have four children. John was 90 years old when he went home to be with Jesus in May 2023. Around Christ Church, he is particularly remembered for his favourite sayings, “We’re sharing the journey” and “It’s love, isn’t it, that matters?”
