About Us

Come for the View,
Stay for the Vision

Christ Church Lavender Bay has a lovely view of Sydney’s harbour and bridge. The beauty is captivating, especially from the terrace next to our church where the first services took place in 1872.

We’re grateful for our stunning location, but we believe that an even greater view of life comes through the beautiful vision of Jesus Christ.

After all, this world can sometimes feel like an abstract painting—like this one of Lavender Bay by Dr. John Yeo, a long-time parishioner and friend to many. The colours roll into one another like seasons, though we might not always understand what we’re seeing.
And sometimes life can feel as clear as the stories in the stained-glass windows of our church. They tell of our biblical history, one of certainty and love and God’s faithfulness as each reflects the light of grace.

Whether harbour views, abstract paintings or stained-glass windows, they’re all opportunities to recognize the beauty of Jesus.

Because we believe that when we see the beauty and goodness of Jesus, the truth of his life, death and resurrection becomes clearer in all we do.

Whether you’re just starting your career or entering retirement, whether you’re managing your family or moving from a new place, whether you live locally or in another suburb, we’d love to meet you at Christ Church Lavender Bay.

Join us Sundays

whether on livestream or in person

10am

A traditional service for those who love the music of an organ, the liturgy of the prayer book, thoughtful sermons and lovely morning teas—always home-made treats—on the terrace.
Or

5pm

A contemporary service for those who like the strum of guitars, informality with structure, thoughtful sermons and dinner—always dinner—afterwards whether at our minister's home next door or a local restaurant.

The minister is approachable and the fellowship is authentic. While many of our members live around the lower North Shore, others travel from a variety of suburbs to join us for services and events. We're an easy walk from North Sydney or Milsons Point train stations, McMahons Point as well as Milsons Point ferries. And if you decide to drive, there are lots of parking options with two car parks at the church and street parking as well.
Whichever service you attend, we hope you'll experience warm hospitality, a friend’s welcome, and an encouraging word about how to live this life we’ve been given.

Because the beauty, goodness and truth of Jesus are the balm our broken world needs today.
Wherever you are on your journey, there’s a place for you at Christ Church Lavender Bay.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Meet Our Team

God bless us, everyone.

Rev. Greg Webster
Senior Minister

Greg is a self-proclaimed nerd. He has studied for almost as many years as he’s worked. When he does work, it has been at an airport, a hospital, a school, a car wrecking yard and he once made
letterboxes. He is terrible at directions, cleaning the kitchen and harmony singing. However,
he is excellent at Trivia and if you need a specialist in music of the 70’s and 80’s then he
could be the difference between you winning and losing.
Greg will happily tell you how these experiences have shaped him and his ministry at Christ Church, which he began in March 2023.

Rev. Di Niolios

Assistant Minister to Seniors
Di has served Christ Church since 201 as our Minister to Seniors and Pastoral Care.  A former English teacher, Di was the first woman appointed Archdeacon for Women's Ministries in the Anglican Diocese of Sydney. She held that position from January 1994 to May 2002. She was also one of the first group of 14 women to be ordained a deacon in 1989 in the Sydney diocese. In 2002, she was ordained as a priest in the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne and rector of St John's parish in Diamond Creek, Melbourne  before returning to Sydney and serving at Christ Church. She loves leading Bible studies and filling up her social calendar.

Jo Kadlecek-Gilbert

Interim Parish Administrator & Communication Coordinator
Jo and her husband Chris have been members of CCLB since 2019, and have been part of the evening service since it began. Jo is an author, writer and teacher who loves exploring Scripture with others. She and Chris moved from the U.S. to Australia in 2015 with their dog Clark Kent.

Alice Hung

Parish Administrator (On Maternity Leave)
Alice is married to Christopher Tou and they attend St Basil's Anglican Church Artarmon. She believes God's word can change people's hearts and she is excited to be part of CCLB ministry by helping with office administration work.
